Muskets were the highest technology of that time. I didn't see the founding fathers say we should have bow and arrows!

If every firearm is cut in half, think of how much safer this world would be.

You could never be gunned down in public anymore ..... you'd have to be half-gunned down. Half-murders would be common and shooting ranges could get by with half the space. Wars would last half as long and the Battle of Midway could have been named the Battle of Quarterway.

Naturally, every dull-witted cowboy who waddles around armed, dying to use Eastwood's "Go ahead, make my day!" would now have to be satisfied with "Go ahead, make my half-day!", and the song "I shot the Sheriff" would have to be changed to "I half-shot the Sheriff".
