Promoting atheism in schools would lower the murder rate?

You do like to be intentionally obtuse and really dumb things down. the understandable offshoot of your one-pointed purpose to work the words "atheism" or "liberal" into your byline but it just doesnt work that way except for minor propaganda purpose.

The easiest & most direct way to deal with the controversy would be to have religion- ALL religions--to be taught in schools, so we can understand the nature of religion as a natural phenomenon . Just as human consciousness & free will are the result of physical processess but of an order of much higher complexity & evolved organization, above what we normally think they are. Just as we have moved far beyond the earliest simple conceptualizing of of an Earth & Man centered cosmos with its perfect heavenly stars orbiting us above , to the true order of the complex eliptical orbits of planets arranged in the heliocentric solar system now.

If they want to teach religion & creationism in schools, let there be many classrooms in abundance ( over in the Philosophy depts) for this i am all for it. And don't stop there make sure to teach them all , reverse engineering them tracing all the way back to the earliest roots where its possible to study them as keenly as any other complex natural phenomenon.

* The doubly high murder rate of this state is sitting there as a testimony to how little influence a state so dominated by fundmentalist Christianity seems to do little to stem these stats, what is the probem here? I could be as dumb as you & make the inference that "More Jesus = More Murder" , that would be typical Brumar reasoning.

"Promoting atheism in schools would lower the murder rate?"

That would be conjecture. All we know for sure is that atheists are way way way under represented in the prison population as a function of their societal make-up. So "less crime" would seem to be a reasonable conclusion. Many atheists are also humanists, so it is not surprising to find them hoisting a higher moral banner than the run of the mill superstitious person.
