Are there any personal income tax implications for LVG in having this done in 1997 rather than 1998? Sort of a double favor from the BOD, perhaps? Xmas bonus... ;-) Long time since I saw one of those from IBM.. :-))

I think IBM makes some of the best PC products anywhere.

Witness the IBM Thinkpad notebooks: Nobody makes a better laptop keyboard and look at the innovations in the Thinkpad 770, which EVERY major magazine is raving about.

I also recently bought the IBM mouse with the scrollpoint button (like the eraser-head on the laptops). This mouse makes surfing the Internet and scrolling through documents so much easier - much better than Microsoft's Intellimouse.

Perhaps IBM should get out of the PC desktop business altogether, and focus its PC efforts on laptops. The margins are much better here, and IBM has a sterling reputation with laptops too. (By the way, I can't wait until the Thinkpad 770 (with 14.1" display) comes down into the $4000 price range so I can buy one!
