Agree... yes absolutely.

I just gave one example. To look at this on yet another level, anthropological researchers observe that altruism is interconnected with the concept of reciprocal utility, as an innate family condition ... in short 'kinship.' Everyone from the die hard atheist-evolutionists to the extreme religionists ought to be able to find some common ground here. Kinship and the indispensable roles necessary for a society to thrive are represented in the family unit. This idea is and always has been the basis for community development, societal coherence and stability, and consequently the ability for a culture to thrive.

I was merely noticing what I see as one significant essential component to healthy culture which has changed, and encouraging everyone to question that. There should be a great deal of questions about what has changed that could be contributing factors. An argument for more or less guns just seems like a distraction from the real work that needs to be done.
