Ken, I am a bit confused. You noted difficulty connecting a DVD player to the new TV, but now you noted old tapes you were trying to play. What are you trying to connect? There should be ample connections on a new TV for multiple components. If you can connect your laptop, then you should be able to connect other peripherals. Step back, read the instruction manual, and when you call Comcast ask for a supervisor. Luck!!
