In my opinion, it depends on one's political views and one's definition of tyrant.

1. An absolute ruler who governs without restrictions.
2. A ruler who exercises power in a harsh, cruel manner.
3. An oppressive, harsh, arbitrary person.

Not yet. And if our Founders had only bows and arrows, we would have never won our freedom. Do you live here ? I'm getting kind of old, so I may have a different outlook since I've been residing in this country for such a long time. Since 1776, the people of this country have lost many individual rights. It was not founded on a socialistic agenda, was based on a capitalistic economic system founded by our forefathers who believed if you work hard you will be rewarded. Charity is a decision of the individual not the Govt. If I earn something, it should be my decision to give it away, not taken from me by the Govt, so they can give it away. I believe the American people as a whole to be very generous. I have come to believe our founders to be very believable and very prophetic. -----Peaceb2u
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
Thomas Jefferson

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
Thomas Jefferson

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.
Thomas Jefferson
