Texas Instruments, for one, does not agree with Tom Kurlack:

(Briefing.com)

Texas Instruments (TXN) 47 5/16 -4 1/2: semiconductor/electronics maker says pricing pressure on chips is only a temporary problem. Expects pressure to continue over the next 2-3 months before recovering; believes that currency crisis in Asia will actually benefit the chip industry, as Korea cuts capacity; says concerns "misplaced" over impact of Asia crisis on the chip industry....

Hi Shakush, excellent post. You suggested:

Rather than puking up my semi equips, I figure
a better way to play the guaranteed reduction in
SEA imports is to be short Choice Beef and feed
grains and perhaps some food companies with
significant regional exposure in the expectation
the locals might feel compelled to modify their
diet a little bit.

Intriguing idea.... Do you have any particular
food companies in mind? Who has "significant
regional exposure"?
