I don't know about you, but I'd prefer my civilian life not include gunfights, which by law would be illegitimate By law in nearly every jurisdiction in the country, one is permitted to use deadly force to prevent imminent risk of life or serious bodily harm to oneself or others. It's called self-defense, something you seem oddly opposed to.

Have you ever been in a legitimate gunfight, outside of military combat, UW? None of your business. The point is you have never been in a gunfight and suddenly believe you can determine what Americans can and cannot use to defend themselves. Military and civilian defense are very similar. You saw the film clips, how many of the cops who responded in Connecticut had guns that only held 5 rounds as you propose? I saw ZERO! Did you know the 1st cop arrived 20 minutes after the killing of kids started? When seconds count, the police are only minutes away. One armed administrator or teacher could have turned that attack around before the cops get there. What is it about that simple concept that frightens you? That is why we are armed…That and the need to defend ourselves against an out of control government as described by Thomas Jefferson. I am convinced the only reason America is still free is because the populace is armed. Switzerland is similar. Every home in Switzerland has a military rifle and ammo. Since establishing that policy, Switzerland is the only European country that has never been occupied or defeated by internal or external forces. Reports I've read state there never has been a school shooting in Switzerland even though every household is armed. The Israelis are well armed too. Have you ever heard of an Israeli killing school children in Israel?
