I've been selling on craigslist our used stuff (close to $40-50,000 worth of stuff over 7 years) for a long time without any issues. Just follow these rules and you'll be fine:

- put a true honest description of the product you are selling. If it has scratches or a dent, say so. That way you avoid wasting people's time and your time.
- only deal with local people who are willing to meet you face to face and pay cash
- when at all possible, try not to give your address and instead meet them in a near by public place in daytime with lots of people (like walmart/target/costco parking lot)
- price it correctly and it will sell
