Don.. I agree. When I lost big during the bust in October I had no one to blame but myself.. Not even the Asian market. I had no business being in 20 option positions for earnings and had I been in stock positions I would not have sold and recovered unscathed. As it turned out I was down 35k in one day another 10k the next day. This was about 5 weeks ago, and I've won that back and more on top of it because of the lessons I have learned from this misadventure.

You are right also about the others.. My husband always said "That's nice." when I would tell him.. "Hey I just made 3k on CDG" (or MRK or whatever).. and when I lost those big bucks he went on and on for two days about how irresponsible it was to be so overinvested in options. Well that's the way it is. Now I'm very careful. Also make sure to be in 1/2 cash at the end of every 2 trading days especially on Friday. And my goal is to trade stocks in 1,000 share blocks 3-4 positions a day.. For that I have to increase my trading portfolio to 250k and I plan to do so meticulously. With luck I'm about 2 years away from that goal. I might not make it but at least I'm doing well enough to have quit my job and trade full-time.
