You are right. Some excellent reading in the link you posted. I have printed it out to read more leisurely.

Some musings on the overnight market (FWIW): I have seen this pattern before. Some bad news hits after the markets after the close (COMS, the techs, etc.). Japan is down overnight. The overnight S&P futures (I chart them in real time via signal/trade station) get sold off. Then about 5:00 AM, almost precisely, somebody (?) starts buying those spoos and they turn on a dime to head up. It's as if someone woke up, looked at his screen, and said, "Damn, they're down again. Better pour in some money and drive 'em up again." I smell manipulation.

Question: Who are these overnight dipsters? And more importantly, How long can it go on?
