a) great
b) yes the AR is an ideal platform for home defense - the very reason police and military use if for clearing buildings of bad guys over a pistol or a shotgun. In the carbine form it's short enough to clear doors and with it's rails capable of holding many useful attachments like lights, optics and lasers.
c. buy them as well

As for justification - don't need one - that's how rights work.

They also have saved lives - it's the person not the tool.

a handgun is arguably not an ideal gun for home defense to begin with and therefore an AR15 is even less ideal..

I live in NY..........don't want to go thru the extended process to get a pistol permit......plus I don't consider them ideal home defense weapons.........don't feel a need for a conceal and carry permit either in my area......but an AR15 carbine is absolutely an ideal home defense weapon........you really don't know what you are talking about. The AR15 would be far superior to any of the hunting weapons I have for home defense. I'm considering one.
