health is much more important than a lot of other attributes

Started paying attention to health after becoming 39 years old.

I believe that: What you eat tells how long you will live.

How you live, (how much active you are, how much peace of mind) tells you what quality of life you will have in that later long period of live.

The people of the past generation could not envisage them living too long.
They also did not have money to prepare for a long life. Neither they had the education nor the information to access to make decisions, early in life, to prepare for that long life.

We are fortunate to be educated enough, have money and the information to prepare for the longer life.

I don't need to watch my food too much because I am naturally slim.
Used to be 56 Kg in my 20s. Slowly went to 59 Kg. stayed there for a whole decade. Then slowly went to 61 Kg during my 40s. In my 50s it hovered between 61 and 63 Kg. But still wearing the 34/32 size trousers I wore in my 20s.

Keep listening to the body and make checks as I seem fit. Only serious health problem: Pneumonia mid 2011.

Stopped going to the gym regularly after July 2007 due to frozen shoulder problem. First in the right one. Then after in the left one. In the past, any time I returned to the gym, in 6 weeks I was fit again same.

Started again here in Nairobi -like Tehran a good place since 1.700m above sea level. Was not sure I could achieve the fitness level I got when I was 39. Six weeks and I was in good shape again.

I think the capacity of the body to regain fitness is there. One just need to kick it in once in a while. see if I'd get fit again.
