I love oysters: Blue Pointe, Malapeques, appalachicola's from Florida, Chesapeake Bay and Point Reyes from California. I'd never fry them. Just a little lemon, maybe a mignonette sauce. We had Chesapeakes last night with champagne before our New Years Eve supper. Guess I'm in the minority here, but oysters on the half shell always get ravenously consumed when we entertain. We usually go through two boxes (about 60#)...have beer and a nice white bordeaux with them.

Love oysters, in stew, fried or on the half shell.
There's a little place near here that gets them in fresh every afternoon.. and they serve them up, however you
want them. I need to revisit that place real soon.

This is pretty good stuff too: Cape Fear Clam Chowder

I like both Oyster stew and the multiple other ways to fix them, but if you life bacon and eggs together I'm pretty sure a Hangtown Fry will land you in tastebud heaven.
