Usually I throw out $1 Trillion minimum as what the MIC total with homeland sec, wars and off balance sheet private contractors cost per year in the post 9/11 world..that figure is probably too conservative given the outlay for life on 4M vets on disability and others with PTSD that are ticking time bombs in our society. We really need to get to the $275B total we spent the last year Clinton was in office adjusted for growth in GDP and tax revenue since then. Of course McCain, Panetta and everyone else tied to the money making machine goes ballistic telling us even a penny cut compromises our national security
