Why call the numbers "disappointing" then? I think you couldn't be more wrong here. Do you think the market would be up today if we had gone off the cliff? Krugman argues for "no big deal" if we go off and stay off the cliff for a few months. What happens during those few months? Indecision on the part of consumers and businesses while they sit on the sidelines. Again, Krugman has shown a real lack of interest in what is best for the country as he seems more content on nitpicking on the presidents negotiating. And this time he turns his back on the entire idea of Keynesian economics which suggest to me his comments represent nothing more than a visceral dislike of Obama.
