Thank you for the very kind words, Karen.

Over the past year or so, I have sent countless letters and articles to our nearest big-city and smaller-city newspapers. Not one has ever been published -- which is fine, except for the fact that the leftwing, pro-Obama garbage that they generally publish instead is absolutely despicable. (I no longer submit any of my writing to any of those papers.)

One of my recent commentaries on Patriot Post, regarding the future of American healthcare, received a particularly heartbreaking response today from a woman (a Trudy, in Alabama) who appears to be a senior, and retired Army:

I see the exact same thing, but in a different setting. As a retired member of the Armed Services, I shop in our local commissary (Army). The staff there are union, although I cannot determine to which union they belong. They are so very rude to the shoppers--mostly elderly, as am I. Not merely unhelpful--but rude--with swearing, vulgar comments, etc. They obviously don't know who fought for them and their right to work in a free country. I have never seen them act this way to the young, active-duty shopper.

I wanted to spit nails after reading that. How dare retired Army people have to be subjected to such behavior by people who are not fit to shine their shoes? That would not have happened even twenty years ago. It may represent a microcosm of modern America's skewed priorities, but it is a powerful example of where they are taking us.

If the GOP were smart, it would hire Simplicity to write their speeches.
