VOD does look like a good value here. I'm short the Apr 26 puts thinking that if I get assigned, I will still collect the next div in June.

VOD has actually paid close to $1.50 the last couple of years in two unequal dividends in June and Nov with June the big one. At $25, the yield is close to 6%.

One problem with VOD is the unpredictability of the div from Verizon Wireless. It has been a difficult realationship with VZ since they control 55% of Verizon Wireless while VOD has 45%.

VZ can call the tune on Verizon Wireless dividends while VOD, for its own planning purposes, would naturally like predictability.
