If the desire is to reduce gun ownership, this whole exercise is counter productive to the max. More gun owners are being created by the day... and the movement by decent people to get armed has been growing for about ten years. I'm no prophet but it seems a mass shift in the consciousness of decent people has occurred and via intuition they are seeing the need to get prepared for a major confrontation of some sort.
