I thought you were saying Obama could not be held hostage on the debt ceiling because of having gotten the unemployment extended? My point was that there is still a hostage, a much larger hostage, and that is the destructive impact not raising the debt ceiling would have on the world economy. And if he had raised the debt ceiling by executive action he could have avoided the whole thing, and the courts would probably uphold his decision as "protecting the full faith and credit" of the country.
