The way I read Steve’s (Geneguru) post is that he wanted a strict 12/31 4pm deadline with no extended time for late portfolio submissions. Clearly that would have been very unpopular with you & most other contestants. Here’s the link to his post:

In my reply, as you note, I said:

This in no way indicates my belief the rules would let someone time their portfolio submission with the certainty they would benefit.
That’s it for me on the guidelines dispute. I have no more energy to put into it.
