Excluding a brief spike in 1998 (where it went from 30 to 42 in less than a year), the stock never went down more than 30% from the peak. It has given nice dividends. The stock doesn't shock the portfolio on the way down.

Apple will grow their revenues more this quarter than KO will make for the quarter. Apple has a tendency to underperform in Dec and Jan til EPS come out. The underperformance sets up a nice move higher once people act surprised that Apple beats expectations again.

KO has 50 consecutive years of dividend increases - through recession after recession.

It's 5 year dividend growth rate is about 8.5% - those are good pay raises for its shareholders.

Yet you are able to type "only some dividends" with a straight face?
