You asked whether i supported Obama giving aid money to the MB which are the elected majority representatives of Egypt & just answered "yes" we need to continue the aid packages . If there are any major republican spokesman in the Senate or Congress that disagrees with our doing so, they are free to speak up or you to point them out. In the great scheme of things you are free to think whatever you choose, whether it has any effect on anything that matters on any scale is questionable.

If you have another $1-2Tril to spend on further military incursions & occupations since our first response with Desert Storm, then by all means go for it. I personally was disappointed with not going into Iraq then when we were sitting on Saddams doorstep 10yrs earlier, which was decided against. Sure would have saved a great deal of future expenditure of men & money later and solved the question of WMD's much sooner.

But as you say , the past is past....

Look at it this way, i just posed the question to you which does leave the door open whether Obama's people could have done more to effect a different outcome in Egypt which I would very much like to know more but these things are difficult reads. We have no way of knowing for now. So that door is still very much open in my mind as whether Obama deserves criticism, our intelligence has been so half assed for so long under so many, what can you do but wait & see if any of us have gotten smarter.

George Bush senior was right there with 100,000 Turkish troops sitting on Saddam's northern borders and 540,000 coalition forces below sitting on Saddam's door with, yet opted to not go into Bahgdad then. Obama is being called a "wimp" now for withdrawing forces too early from Iraq & Afghan, not being strong enough but we left people in Iraq get murdered horribly after the Gulf War because republican think tanks were too chickenshit(?) to go the full distance? Ostensibly that it would cost too much, we couldnt keep the coalition together, we would have to occupy for too long indefinitely. etc.

We left a maniac thug in power after all that, so who are the real wusses leaving a tyrant in power for all the world to see? One reads the current right wing critques of Obama making us look weak to the world for withdrawing troops etc , what short memories they all have. Since the different decision and more resolve in the Gulf War would have prevented us from having to go in & do it all over again.

But these are difficult reads as i said, how are you or me to know the full story why GH Bush was prevented then from doing what for all purposes & reason should have been done then, got rid of the madman & dam world opinion and take care of the real business then & there.
