If there is deterioration in India, it's probably not just changes in the media reporting. NZ has adopted many cultural deteriorations copied from the USA, generated from the local deterioration in cultural norms including lack of social context enforcements arising from the welfare state which started out with the best of intentions. The road to Hell was paved with good intentions. With 6 billion or 7 billion people swarming there is excellent potential for some new TEOTWAWKI. It's a global experiment on a grand scale. Free-ranging experiments with few boundary conditions other than human nature can lead to calamitous catastrophe and probably will. We can't all flee to better places. A million NZers have abandoned NZ to go somewhere better, with that departed horde being replaced with swarms of others fleeing to NZ to improve their own lot. Africa has been in continuous catastrophe. The swarming hordes of the Islamic billion could easily go that way with the Arab Spring looking more like catastrophe in the making than a renaissance. There are big natural things that can happen such as a Big Freeze in 2020 which would cause vast geopolitical mayhem. The Global CO2 Alarmists think it will go in the opposite direction with heating rather than cooling. Plus ca change. Mqurice
