With some people I think it's drugs but with many I think it's more about simple gullability. Some people are just so honest that they don't believe anybody else is dishonest. They are so easily taken to the cleaners by fraudsters and crooks. The elderly are especially susceptible. Some people never really grow up and have never been exposed to crimininals and crooks and a Govt full of criminals and crooks is really beyond their comprehension and is in the realm of the impossible.
