Mohan: floor trader on CNBC at lunch noted how many billions of new dollars show up on Jan 1, that the mutual funds were (1) under pressure to use up the cash they hand on hand before Jan 1, (2) get and spend the Jan 1 pension-fund inflow, (3) keep the techs supported so they can have a good "santa claus blowoff rally". This means the bears only need 4 weeks supply of rolaids. No guarantee that the bulls will survive Japan's Dec 10 announcements. I also heard that fund inflows are increasing into index funds as flight to safety. Sadly, I find there are some very respectable balance sheets among small caps but nobody wants them :-(
