Rosemary,

Dell's price action must be based on some extraordinary fundamentals? Like good management, good execution, acute visionary skills, etc. I'm so far impressed. Apparently this inventory problem which has caused Toshiba to discontinue it's desktop business, and is causing huge grief for 3COM today and others recently, shows how dramatically Dell stands apart.

You asked last night about upgrades/downgrades, etc. but I didn't read it until this morning. Anyhow, DLJ has upgraded FY98 earnings to $2.55 from $2.50 and are maintaining their buy rating. They also say that Dell's stock would be extraordinarily attractive around $70 or 20X next year's earnings estimate. I think they've underestimated though.

Regards,

Lee
