<Not sure how I will ever get to the point of retirement...>

You have plenty of runway and thats the good news! You see, right now, you are in the "parent red zone" wonderful kids, a bride who gets you, work you enjoy, house, lots of infrastructure, cabin in the woods etc,.....this is life now full tilt...and you're living it. When the kids grow up and move away, then you and your bride will have some fun and interesting choices. Polvy and Kath are doing that now. See, he ain't really retired....he's figured out a cool balance...do ya work to live, or live to work.? I think he's doing the former...could be wrong but I'm just sayin. You are well positioned.

More importantly, who is going to win tonight....I hear sports pundits saying that there is a 350 point spread in SAT scores between Notre Dame and Alabama which indicates Alabama will win? I'm thinking the Jesuits will may pull it off.

clappy-

what altair19 said. everyone here has been to hell and back
and still sees beauty.

as to yer request for help... i can't help you. i have taken a risky path...

i have allowed myself to be as selfish as my conscience will allow...
bucking up against family values for camping trips... etc. (comeon
fambily, we're going camping!) ( goodbye fambily... i've gone saylin')

all i can say is... follow the desire... follow your bliss... but never, never be mean.
and support sidekick's dreams -- try to make it equal, eh?

if i have only one piece of advice...observe nature...try to harmonize with
everything she does. treat her like the lover she is... then act like a bozo...

it works for me.
