What I've done over the years, for my own research/screening, is to use one of the free web based stock screeners to look for one or two of the required percentage target fundamental ratios I want from within a company's financial statements. I then dump the findings into EXCEL where I can then use EXCEL to calculate the other remaining ratios I want.
Once that's done I can then delete all those companies from the list that don't comply by not simultaneously meeting all the target ratios.

That process usually ends up with, say, 40 to 50 Industrial type companies, that one can further scrutinize for any other relevant criteria.

It would be interesting to see what Financial Statement components one can screen for, using AAII's data base and screening tools, because I prefer to make up my own screens rather than use "ready made" ones.

Hi again Shane M .... this is not about replying to your post #2650, this is just about my own natural curiosity ...

Reading through several posts on other Value boards investing boards I came across the following remark by Jurgis :-

"Of course, there are people who don't like to hear negative opinions because they get better results when they don't hear them (see Shane M on Fundamental Value Investing board)."

Do you perhaps know what he's specifically referring to ?
I assume you must have posted something on FVI that prompted him to come to that conclusion. If you feel so inclined, and you are in the picture as to the subject matter, maybe you could point me in the right direction, e.g. an FVI post reference number, or whatever, so that I can better understand what he was referring to.

Like I said, I'm a curious kinda guy ... it's nothing more than that.
