Maybe so, but Bear Stearns still likes QCOM and NOKa, the two with CDMA.

RESEARCH ALERT - Nokia, Qualcomm reiterated

NEW YORK, Dec 3 (Reuters) - Bear Stearns reiterated its buy ratings on Nokia (NYSE:NOKa - news) and Qualcomm Inc (Nasdaq:QCOM - news), a Bear Stearns source said.

-- No further information on the reiterations was immediately available.

-- Bear Stearns upgraded Qualcomm to buy from attractive on September 30, at which time an earnings estimate for 1998 was set at $1.25 per share.

-- Qualcomm on Wednesday was off 1-1/8 at 66-7/8 in morning trading.

I think it is more than that. All the techs have dropped about 1-3 points in the last 30 hours. Look at TXN, INTC, COMS, etc....

Plus those that dropped seem to have a little higher volume than they had in the last week or two. in QCOm case, it jumped up alot.

Tom, Ericsson is slated to cut 10,000 jobs over 2 years as a result of poor profitability.The infocom division and all radio axcess as well as fixed wire networks are effected.Could this mean a downward trend is beginning to rear its ugly head due to an absent CDMA product offering? No doubt this report has rattled telecom equitment stocks generally draging down even the CDMA equitment makers.Most mutual fund managers don't realize yet the difference in product offerings.
