Under your thinking someone who want stricter fuel emissions standards would have to actively try to get his car altered to lower the emissions... not just advocate for new laws Obviously you have never had children. Children learn early in life when parents say "Do as I say and not as I do" that they are hypocrites and the advice is not worth following. After a few months of sport in pointing this out they mature to the point that they tire of making their parents squirm. Perhaps I am guilty of lacing the decorum to simply let hypocrisy be its own reward.
