JP, not so fuzzy memory.

You are right and the non plastic outnumber the plastic.. I didn't upgrade from the original until they lost the plastic. I thought those felt and looked cheap.

Relying on my fuzzy memory, I think the original iPhone had an aluminum back. I remember being disappointed to discover that the second generation, the 3G, had a plastic back.
