[Johnny: The author is this article is way too optimistic and it seems without justification. I have been to enough CES over the years to realize there is more hype and spin doctoring than fact at these shows.

I have never known Intel to announce specific design wins and one or two design wins does not a trend make.

Most handset manufacturers have reference designs that they build their new models around. Given that a new model must come out in 18 months from conception to deliver to carriers for testing in some cases it is hard to imagine exisiting manufacturers dropping their existing reference designs wihout a really serious advantage being gained..

Looking at my Galaxy S3, the phones have reached a performance level where it does most of what the typical consumer would want in terms of applications and functions: phone. camera, music player, web browser. More computering power is only going to give small incremental advantages at the sacrifice of battery life.]
