Ok, and teachers already do plan for such events. In my community (near Columbine High School) they have "lock down" emergency proceedures and regular meetings to fine tune their response plans for any known emergency potentials. If teachers are authorized (not pushed) to carry, we will be seeing a very different scenario, one with stable, trustworthy, and prepared responders. Far more reasonable than creating a paramilitary force of armed guards, IMO.
