I don't really see the connection with "trust busting".

Trust busting as envisioned by TR was about monopolies and abuse of the power that comes with them. If there was no monopoly and no abuse of the monopoly (or at least oligopoly) power, then they weren't in his sites.

This is more picking winners and losers bullshit. If the huge too big to fail corporations were Obama's "green" buddies, it wouldn't be a problem. Also, there are other companies who will provide the same kinds of services AIG does and it certainly is a highly competitive business.

What this is about is not even "too big to fail". The capital requirements of an AIG are so substantial not just anyone can take on those services.
