built by both parties brick by brick for over a 100 years
you're too hung up on the two political parties. they are both very similar at this point. they are both the 'liberal' party or the 'socialist' party with only slightly varying degrees of liberalism. the things that don't change with the parties or the 'winds' are principles. if we focused on them, it wouldn't matter what any political party called itself.
Right now they do what they want and laugh about it....ooooohhh "reputational damage! scary!
this is the point i was trying to make. with government involvement, reputations no longer matter! they don't matter because people think that the government will make them whole again anyway. the government wants us to think that, but in reality, they seldom make anyone whole that hasn't paid them in advance, like goldman did.

If you, as an individual did these things, you'd never see the light of day.
not if i as an individual, had enough money to buy the cronies off. the problem is that that kind of power shouldn't be owned by a government, or anything else. goldman should have paid with their financial lives.

Prisons are chock full of small time drug users and petty thieves.
there would be far fewer petty thieves in a true free market society. in real free market capitalism, over time, crime for money would become less and less worthwhile. more and more money would be available just by getting a job because jobs would continue to pay more and more as the economy strengthened.

as for drug users, it should never have been a crime in the first place. if someone willingly wants to degrade their life, they should be free to do so.
