>>Low Margin Biz...Lots of Competition. That's COMS<<
Not exactly.
May be true for their NIC's and modems.
Their Layer2/3 switching and remote access products are high marign and very popular not to mention their new palm-top. Their brand name is very strong.
Do your homework before you invest!

<<USRX was $147.99 -- the competition ranged from $85.95 to $94.99>>

The USRX winmodems are being sold (if at all) with rebates of $50 to better compete (which begs the question: will USRX profits go the way of ZOOM et al.?)

Anyhow, the USRX fax/modems which have just arrived in stores are more expensive than their competitors...

COMS will be bouncing as Eric B will be on CNBC...I just bought in anticipation of this and will dump on the run up...

Regards

Re: modem competition ... Whose lunch is being eaten?

Maybe Igor can shed some light on this: What impression do you get from your customers and discussions? Are COMS modems too expensive?
