It's only $100 cheaper than the iPhone 4, which will probably be $350 after this year's price realignment anyways. The iPhone 4 could very well become their sub $400 iPhone by default this year as the price on the 4S is reduced to $450 along with a $550 price tag for the iPhone 5 next fall when they roll out the next high end iPhone model. If Apple can make a $350 aluminum case iPhone next year, I don't see why they couldn't make a polycarbonate iPhone for the masses at $350.
