So, I do read and then reread your posts to ensure that I understand; however, I may not in this case. Are you saying the pollution in Beijing is necessary because of the amount of infrastructure that has been developed and currently under construction in and around Beijing? China will desalinate the ocean, build more solar panels and provide irrigation systems near its deserts? I'm left to infer that the censorship concerning the level of air pollution is a necessary constraint because it would be inconvenient for the larger population to know the potential (or true) health costs of this industrial development. As a corollary I would suppose that China's ambitions must not (unduly) consider the environmental or the human costs associated with these developments. There may be one or two posters on this board who will agree with this. I might presume that these other projects could also benefit a bit of CCP censorship. Your other point might be that some first world countries are now control by the 1% and can't invest in infrastructure anymore. If so, that is an interesting hypothesis.
