Not that any of that matters to me. Programming code may as well be written in Sanskrit, I can't understand any of it.
I forgot all about it when I stopped punching cards. What a nightmare that was!

I'm not sure what "C" stands for
Well, it was named "C" because it came after another programming language.

The previous one was called "B".

Any questions?

"Before C there was BCPL -- Basic Combined Programming Language -- which influenced a language called "B". Then a new language developed as an enhanced version of B, so it was named C."

Now for extra credit, what programming language came before "B"?

Oooooh - yes! It was "A" or "APL", also know as "A Programming Language".

Computer geeks are smart .

And creative too!

(And with that, is it any wonder that we needed Steve Jobs to rescue mankind?)

Oh and since this is the season,

did you know that if you looked at source code for old software

(never mind the sanskrit - it'll tie you up in knots. Namaste.)

you'd see all sort for references for

(think of the answer before I give it - extra credit again!)

Lord of the RIngs!

Seems a lot of the early programmers were LOTR fans.

In my youth I even used a plotter (printers did not make pictures - you needed a pen penplotter for non-ascii graphical output).

The name of the plotter was "Gandalf"
