<repressive governmental control of political, economic, and social life usually by an arbitrary exercise of power by police and especially secret police> You are blind if you do not see the dangers of stationing well armed military style police at schools, shopping centers, theaters, parks, offices and all public spaces -- with all manner of military weaponry and related gear available to them, including the weapons of data collection that are so central to modern "warfare". That is where the NRA is taking you. The NRA is not defending your rights -- the NRA is advocating militarization of all aspects of civil society and the militarization of all public places. If you think armed forces at every school in America will defend "freedom" then you are asleep at the wheel. The NRA is taking you towards rule by the gun.
