As US analysts and media get lost in space about March quarterly earnings, nobody bothers to think about Apple's growth in China. China's big first quarter is going to support Apple's earnings better than most people think. It would not surprise me to see Apple's revenues and earnings be much closer to December's quarter like it has been the past few years thanks to the launch of the iPhone in China that just got started at the end of December.

March is Apple's second best quarter of the year. If they have new iPhones waiting for everyone by June when the 4S comes off contract, June will probably be the only slow quarter this year. Then, there is always the potential for Apple to add China Mobile in the second half. I think they have their hands full just getting through December and March before adding new carriers becomes much of a priority.

I'm much more positive on Apple's growth this year as the CDMA replacement cycle begins to kick in and China adds another CDMA carrier. Hopefully, Apple has more iPhones to offer this year to give consumers at least 2 different types of phones for 3G and 4G, traditional metal phones and newer plastic phones. Hell, I would pay the same for a plastic phone just so I didn't have to buy another Otter Box.
