Remember back a month or so ago, when I talked about the Kennedys passing a law in Oct of 1963 regarding "deinstitutionalization"....IMO, this started us down (and DOWN) a very bad and slippery path....Eventually we shut down almost all the mental hospitals, and there is no place to go for people who really do need help as well as supervision for some time.

Noooooooooooo, the Government and the people decided to just be PC and ignore the entire situation, and totally forgot (never gave it a thought) that many of the homeless people had mental health issues, and no place to call home....

In every case of the list shown earlier, where drugs were a factor, the underlying cause was the illness/problem in the first place.....Totally ignored by our government and the general public....unless they had a loved one with a similar problem. Obviously, shutting them away in a room, and keeping them locked up in a house or hospital isn't the only answer....

We need to realize there is a problem, before the remedy can be sought and the problem resolved.
