That was my wife's Dad. He's still alive at 93.
My Dad warmed my behind several times. If I left my bicycle or my capgun out, I lost the use of them for a week.

I wonder how our country is going to survive with the kind of fathers we're hearing about in the news.

We spanked mostly when the kids were preschool, but the older they got the less it was necessary. By ten you can discipline them in other ways, but when a three year old is trying to stick a fork in an electrical outlet, a parent needs to get their attention. :)
