Obama felt the need to give himself lifetime security on the taxpayer dollar. 300 voters on airplanes are worth more than 700 children at Newton, we have armed air marshals, who decided 700 children could protect themselves? I believe it was about money, the Newton and other school administrations decided money for security was put to better use in their own pockets. We already pay ridiculous property taxes for schools, your point doesn't apply to schools. Instead of saying you need to raise taxes to provide security that use to exist, how about call for an audit and see who decided 700 children could protect themselves and removed security and wasted the money somewhere else?
