I will repeat myself. The Constitution was designed by men who new the proclivities of men to become tyrannical when they had power. For that and a variety of other reasons they deliberately kept the federal government weak and posited most of the power in the states. (This had the effect that migration followed good policies. It is still true, witness the emigration from California and Michigan.)

The Constitution grants the federal government three powers. The Feds were charged with providing for a common defense, maintaining a unified foreign policy and maintaining a common currency. Everything else is superfluous.

Even the EPA would be more efficiently managed on a state level. Liberals would all huddle in destitute states with ridiculous environmental policies and everyone else would live free or die.

One of my quotes is: The more local the government, the better the governance.
