Classic straw man. Show me where I said the economic stagnation wasn't a factor. That was a major factor in the reformers coming to power.

The stagnation was not caused by SDI and the other things.Military spending during that time barely changed. The Soviet Union was already tapped out. And the drop in oil prices in the mid-1980s was pretty much the last straw.

Look, i-node. I was there, aware and following the issues at the time. I remember when Carter made the commitment to smart weapons and the controversy that surrounded them. And don't try to claim that it was Reagan who prompted them, things like the Stinger, a key component in the Soviets realization that they bet on the wrong horses, was fielded right after he came into office.

You are the one trying to revise history, not I. The idea that Reagan single-handedly brought down the Soviet Empire and was a visionary who saw things that no one else could is ludicrous on the face of it. Reality doesn't work that way.
