Years ago, I use to buy these expensive PCs/laptops (fastest chip, best memory, best graphics card, etc) and I came to realize that they were a waste of money. I now have 2 netbooks (one from ASUS, the other from ACER) with decent AMD Dual Core, decent graphic cards and they do the job. Of course, they aren't great enough to hook up to my HDTV and watch MLB via HDMI without interruptions. However, I can watch the games on the Netbooks without a problem and I got the original Roku player, which works great. I also have a 6 or 7 year old Dell Laptop running Vista in my finished basement.

My Asus has lasted 2 years. For $430 that is pretty good. The tracking pad has always had a defect so I use a mouse. The Acer Netbook is good with a decent graphics card.

I wouldn't worship any of these high tech companies; cheaper price point is better.

My Nexus 7 was good for about a month before it began to lag badly. Now it's very very good again. I'll see how long that lasts. Yeah, new main board.
