I do that regularly. And if I sell with a profit it will be because I bought Apple for this reason:

Ignorance. Incorrect perceptions. I bought Apple because I realized that the vast majority of investors were not aware that:

1) OSX was a game changer
2) touch on the iPhone was a game changer
3) apple was and is a design company not a technology company
4) Jobs had matured

So an underpriced Apple was my bet. And I was right.

I'm betting at this point that Apple is underpriced again, its going to do better than expectations on Wed. I'm holding for now. I'm toying with buying some more. I've seen it happen many times.

The alternative bet is Apple is now going to become Microsoft.

This is the weirdest quarter I've ever seen. No one it seems has a handle on the truth. But it seems to me Apple is selling the shit out of everything it makes. Its the riskiest bet I've made on Apple so far. Even if Apple does better than expected, it may fall due to concerns about the next quarters. It may rise despite the fact that Apple is weaker on products than its been in some time.

The original bet I made was a no brainer. Holding through the 2008 dive was a no brainer.

I'm not smart enough or rich enough to be a trader, so I've missed many opportunities to buy low and sell high. Maybe some day. But not today.

Its always a bet though. Have to keep that in mind.

Charts are charts. You can prove anything with them. My comments were basically that the idea that Apple is grossly mismanaged right now are overstated, even paranoid. Obviously not true. They may not be extremely well managed, they may be in a transition, but mismanaged? NOPE.
