Comcast Commercial Online Launches First Commercial Cable Modem
Internet Service in the U.S.

High-Speed Internet Access and Workstation Software is a First For Small Businesses

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Commercial Online today announced the launch of Comcast
Commercial Internet Service, the first cable modem based turnkey Internet access and communications solution for
businesses with up to 100 workstations.

In an effort to keep up with the fast pace of the Internet, many businesses have settled for the standard 28.8 Kbps and 33.6
Kbps dial-up solutions, crawling across the Internet at speeds highly inefficient for conducting business. Now, businesses in
many areas served by Comcast cable systems have a high-speed alternative at a competitive price. Comcast Commercial
Internet Service (CCIS), uses @Home Network's engineered high-speed Internet backbone. The service will also include a
Motorola(R) CyberSURFR(R) cable modem, intelligent on-site caching and routing, full-featured individually branded email,
Microsoft(R) Internet Explorer(R) 4.0, and other software and features usually associated with Fortune 100 companies, not
entrepreneurial organizations.

With CCIS, businesses will connect to the Internet via Comcast's hybrid fiber optic-coaxial cable network and @Home's
high-speed Internet backbone, at speeds many times faster than their current dial-up options. Businesses that are
considering a T1 connection or a dedicated 56K or ISDN connection consider CCIS as an alternative. In most cases,
CCIS will either provide a faster connection to the Internet or will offer similar speed at a lower price. In all cases, CCIS
will include additional services that most Internet service providers (ISPs) consider add-ons, if they offer them at all.

Comcast Commercial Online is introducing CCIS in several New Jersey communities served by Comcast Cable, following
closely on the successful rollout of Comcast @Home(R), the high-speed residential cable modem service. CCIS is being
promoted using direct mail and outbound telemarketing. In 1998, CCIS will be available in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Detroit,
Orange County (CA) and Sarasota -- all Comcast @Home markets. Soon, businesses in these Comcast Cable areas will
join over 7,000 residential, school and library users who are already surfing the Internet at blazing speeds via Comcast
@Home.

''We are pleased to be the first company in the United States to offer a truly affordable high-speed Internet access service
to the business community,'' said Mark Coblitz, vice president of Comcast Corporation. ''Comcast prides itself on being an
innovator and, in fact, is a pioneer in the delivery of Internet services via cable. Comcast Commercial Internet Services is the
first of many advanced products and services for small and medium businesses.''
